Well what I've learnt while I was active on dA was that if you want comments you have to promote a lot your works... and even by doing that, though, you can't be sure to receive many! All I can suggest you is to try to get involved into contests and into the community (forums and chats).
I have only one teeny weeny problem with that. It's hard to self-promote without people saying that you're whining for attention, and that could endanger my reputation a bit. Some guy called me a troll once for putting "Check out my gallery!" in my signature. By the way, I didn't know DA had a forum…can you please explain how that works?
my stats say i give about 20 comments a day on here XD though admittedly, many are the "cool" "CUTE!" and really simple stuff. though if i find rants and other nice stuff, expect a huge wall of text XDDDD
I love this idea It would be nice if DA was to follow something like this. I'll post this on my page so people the visit could be introduced to this idea as well (Sad that there are those who still Faved and ran, even with this stamp...)
I really like this stamp and I definitely support it. I'm definitely not sure how many comments I write in a day but I'm sure it's more than one, between other deviants or my own watchers and the conversations I find myself in, it's always a blast and I love doing it! =]
I agree. I've seen many stamps about "Comments>Favs", but this is the first one taking up the problem of no comments at all. I used to try to give one decent comment a day, but it failed because lack of time. Now I try to respond to every Fav with a comment - even if they're a fav whore or attention seeker. There's a chance it was just a person who didn't know it was better to comment than fav, or something. I like to think I'm giving the right example by exchanging comments for favs. Adding this to my collection for it to be seen by more people (even if my page is the last page where people could see this )
-thank you- for making this, and for writing that journal. I used to be a member here -years- ago, and went away for a long time, only returning this month. And I have been appalled at the lack of meaningful dialogue on the site ... which has always been a problem to some degree, but it was never this bad. There are people with really extraordinary work that I couldn't do in my wildest dreams who get ... four comments, and that's it. So I've been posting ridiculous amounts of comments to try and make up for it. You are awesome for caring about this stuff, and I'm really glad to see someone like you is part of the administration.
Ok, so now the newb question, since I forget--how do I add that stamp to my page/journal?
Just a little clarification, cause I don't want people to be confused, I'm not a part of the administration of dA. I've been a volunteer for a couple of years, but that was just volunteering and I never have been an admin of the site.
I decided to start this little project a bunch of years ago, in hope to see more comments around the site and in hope to spread a little the love for comments!
As for your question, I'm sorry but you need to be a premium member to use thumbnails/images in your journal.
